The Wells House School Association was established in 2020, following a successful reunion lunch in September 2019. The aim was to bring together old boys, girls and staff together to reignite friendships and enjoy some good old-fashioned nostalgia for a very special place on the slopes of the Malvern Hills, which provided a unique educational and sporting grounding at a formative age.
The Association now has over 80 paid up members and a second reunion lunch was held in 2023 again held at the Colwall Park Hotel. Our third reunion lunch in 7 years will be held on Sunday, 17th May 2026 at the same venue and tickets are already selling well.
I am Chair of the Association Committee and there are 7 other members, including a former member of staff, who represent age groups attending the school between 1950 and 1968 when Alan Darval (universally known as Beak) was Headmaster. For different reasons 3 other members, representing the years 1970 to 1991, have left the committee and we would really like to replace them so that younger age groups are better represented. We are also keen to introduce ‘younger blood’ to ensure that the Association can be sustained for as long for as our Members want it to continue, maybe for another 30 or 40 years !
Meetings of the Association Committee are held 3 or 4 times per year either in Malvern or virtually with planning the next reunion event the main topic of discussions.
So, if you enjoy catching up with old friends at reunions (held every 3 years), attended the school between 1970 and 1991 and would like to be considered for the organising committee, then I would be delighted to hear from you.

Chaps and Lassies,
Many of you may remember the Head Boy boards hanging in the dining room at the school. At the sale of the school contents I was lucky enough to acquire the one with my name on it covering the period 1957-77, and I am also the custodian of the last board (1978-91) which was acquired by the Hallmark family. There are two other older boards (1903-20 and 1921-38) hanging in Clive’s Fruit Farm cafe, where we hold the Association committee meetings. That makes just one board (1939-57) missing. At the next reunion, which will hopefully take place in late 2022 (subject to progress in further minimisation of the risks from Covid) it would be great if we could show all five boards at the event. So, does anyone know the whereabouts of the missing Head Boys Board ?
I would love to see a photo of said item and also hear from the owner, particularly if he/she is a former pupil.
Many thanks, Rod Hawnt, (Chairman of the Wells House School Association). Contact me at :- wells.house.assoc@gmail.com
